DETROIT, MICH. ~ In partnership with the Detroit Pistons Foundation and Children’s Foundation of Michigan, Pistons’ forward and University of Michigan alumni Duncan Robinson and the Robinson Family Foundation donated $50,000 to Mitch Albom’s SAY Detroit Play Center LiveWELL Program Tuesday afternoon. The “Halftime Message” effort, supported by fans over the last two seasons, was able to reach $40,000, and Robinson added $10,000 from his foundation to support Detroit children’s mental health.
“This a special place you guys have built here, I could tell that by walking through the doors,” Robinson said during the ceremony. “I spent seven years playing in a different city, but I have ties to this area, so this is very near and dear to me.”
