DETROIT ~ With the New York Islanders defeating the Columbus Blue Jackets Sunday evening, the Detroit Red Wings are currently out of standing for the NHL’s Eastern Conference playoffs.
The Red Wings are just one point behind the Islanders for the second Wild Card spot in the playoffs, standing at 86 to 85, respectively. The Red Wings now have a tough path to clinch the wild card spot, especially as center Dylan Larkin continues to miss time with injury, as there are six home games and six road games left in the season.
