
MICHIGAN ~ Multiple counties in Southeast and Mid Michigan are battling high-force winds that could last into the evening.
The National Weather Service in Detroit issued a high wind warning early Friday morning, with wind speeds expected to blow at 20 to 30 miles, with gusts potentially blasting at 50 to 60 miles per hour. The wind warning will last until 10 p.m., with the winds already knocking out power for thousands of homes in the region.
Slushy snow and rain are also expected in the region during the morning.
The wind warning applies to the following counties: Midland, Bay, Huron, Saginaw, Tuscola, Sanilac, Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee, and Monroe.
