Whitmer to Deliver Final State of State Address Wednesday Evening

Feb. 25, 2026 ~ State Senator (R-Harbor Springs) John Damoose joins Sandy Baruah to preview Gov. Whitmer’s State of the State address.

LANSING ~ Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will deliver her final State of the State speech Wednesday evening before she is term-limited out of office later this year.

Whitmer is expected to discuss issues such as access to affordable housing, improving literacy rates in public schools, and medical debts. WJR will carry her speech at 7 p.m. live from the Michigan State Capitol, with “‘JR Morning with Chris Renwick, Lloyd Jackson, and Jamie Edmonds” airing live Thursday morning from Lansing.
