PODCAST DESCRIPTION
MICHIGAN ~ Project ADAM is a national organization that aims to help schools and other public places be able to react quickly to someone having sudden cardiac arrest, including in Michigan.
Michigan passed a law in 2024 requiring schools to adopt cardiac emergency response plans, making sure staff are trained in CPR, that automated external defibrillators are accessible, and that drills are conducted. Gwen Fosse, program coordinator for Project ADAM in Michigan, told WJR that many schools have already worked towards compliance with the new law, and that her organization is working with school districts where funding may be an issue with updating cardiac arrest responsiveness.
