DETROIT ~ Corporate employees of General Motors officially moved into the automaker’s new and fourth-ever headquarters Monday in Detroit‘s newest skyscraper.
Hudson’s Detroit on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit is now home to the GM headquarters, used for corporate offices, including those for CEO Mary Barra and President Mark Reuss. Four office floors are taken up by GM, along with a street-level vehicle showroom, making up the automaker’s footprint in the tower.
The interior design of the building features a sleek, clean design while celebrating the automaker’s history. Multiple easter eggs can be found while exploring the building, including patents printed on walls facing interior windows, models of the aerodynamic McCormick Speed Form, and wallpaper near the bathrooms full of cassettes that nod to the vast amount of music written about GM’s vehicles.
