Michigan Men Charged After DNA Test Swap in Child-Support Case

December 19, 2025 ~ Pete Lucido, Macomb County Prosecutor joins Kevin to discuss how two Michigan men swapped places to trick a paternity test.

DETROIT, MI ~ Two Michigan men , Mark McCracken and his friend Derek Harrison, plotted to dodge child support by having Harrison pretend to be McCracken during a court-ordered DNA paternity test, signing in under his name and submitting a sample in September. But their ruse was foiled after video surveillance and the mother noticed the results didn’t match her expectations, prompting prosecutors to charge both with tampering with evidence. Each faces up to 15 years behind bars because of past offenses.
