WASHINGTON D.C., Oct. 9, 2025 ~ The Senate failed for a seventh time to pass an end to the ongoing federal government shutdown that has been going on for over a week.
Two competing proposals along party lines failed Thursday, with Republicans refusing to concede to Democrats‘ demands of extending parts of the Affordable Care Act that are expiring. The shutdown continues to cause air traffic control disruptions, concerns of mass federal layoffs, and worries that military families won’t receive their paychecks.
