The Michigan Republican Party and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson are battling over ballot boxes. The GOP sent out a statement saying a ballot drop box was left unlocked in Lansing. Officials say the statement and a video of the box were evidence of gross negligence in the city of Lansing. Benson’s office replied that the video of the unlocked box was shot before ballots were mailed to voters and there were no security problems. The GOP wants Benson to investigate to see if any ballots were stolen or tampered with. Benson, instead, has referred the GOP statement to the attorney general’s office for investigation of what she calls election misinformation.
