Channel 4 Detroit reports an infant death from a fire at a Detroit northwest side home on Saturday night. Police say a 26-year-old baby sitter was watching 7-month-old Michaela Walker and 4 other children when the fire started at the home on Lindsey Street, near Eight Mile Road and Southfield. The babysitter and other children escaped the fire. When a neighbor learned that a baby was still inside the home, he battled the flames looking for the child but couldn’t find Michaela. The mother left the babysitter in charge of the children while she was at work.
