DETROIT ~ As Michigan voters cast their ballots on Election Day, former Gov. Jim Blanchard says he expects Democrats to perform strongly across Michigan and the nation, arguing that concerns about the economy, international conflicts and trade have become major motivating factors for voters heading to the polls.
Blanchard also sought to downplay the political fallout surrounding Rep. Haley Stevens’ endorsement of Republican Mike Rogers in the U.S. Senate race, saying he does not believe the move will significantly influence voter decisions.
