DETROIT, June 25, 2026 ~ At the Rocket Classic in Detroit, Keegan Bradley isn’t just chasing a trophy—he’s navigating the rare challenge of being both a top-tier competitor and the captain of Team USA for the 2025 Ryder Cup. And, if his recent form is any indication, he might just be leading from inside the ropes.
Guest-hosting “Focus with Paul W. Smith,” Mark Hollis caught up with Bradley during the Delta Dental Pro-Am at the Detroit Golf Club. The 2011 PGA Champion, fresh off a win at the Travelers Championship, is now ranked seventh in the world and ninth in the U.S. Ryder Cup standings. That’s sparked growing speculation about whether he might name himself to the team. Bradley had previously said he wouldn’t pick himself unless he qualified automatically—but after his win, he told reporters, “That changes the story a little bit.”

June 25, 2025 ~ Live from the Rocket Classic in Detroit, guest host Mark Hollis sits down with Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley to talk golf, leadership, and life on tour. From balancing captain duties to exploring Detroit’s food scene, it’s a candid conversation with one of golf’s most passionate competitors.
(CONTINUED) Bradley’s approach to balancing his dual roles is surprisingly methodical. “When I’m inside the ropes, I’m just a golfer,” he told Hollis. “But the second I sign my card, I’m back to being captain. It’s a weird balance, but I think it’s helping both sides.” He credits his team of vice captains, including Ryder Cup veteran Jim Furyk, for helping him navigate the decision-making process.
Back in Detroit, Bradley praised the Rocket Classic not just for its classic, tree-lined course—reminiscent of his New England roots—but for its community impact. “One of the things that makes me so proud to play on the PGA Tour is the impact these tournaments have on local communities,” he said, noting the event’s role in bridging Detroit’s digital divide.
And while he’s here to compete, Bradley’s also soaking in the city. “We went to Prime + Proper last night—it was excellent,” he said with a grin. “But the London Chop House? That place is as cool as it gets.” Whether he’s dining downtown or dialing in his swing, Bradley’s Detroit week is shaping up to be one to remember.
