DETROIT, MICH. ~ As the U.S. and Iran war reignites, so has the price of gas. Increasing 13 cents from last week, the national average for a gallon of standard gasoline reached just above the $4 mark Monday for the first time since June 17.
Prices hit a four-year record high in May, reaching $4.50 before falling back down to below $4 as a shaky interim ceasefire agreement was reached in mid-June. Now that the deal has fallen apart, both countries have been exchanging blows in a battle over the Strait of Hormuz as the U.S. has sent airstrikes for the past 10 nights. Iran has killed three U.S. troops since last Friday.
