MI Lawmaker Wants Hearing Into DTE’s Response to Recent Outages

MICHIGAN ~ A Michigan lawmaker is calling for hearings over DTE Energy’s response to storms that raged across Michigan Friday and the subsequent power outages that followed.

Hundreds of thousands of DTE customers lost power on the Fourth of July weekend, with 30,000 customers still without power as of Tuesday morning. State Rep. Alabas Farhat (D-Dearborn) said he wants to see legislative oversight hearings into DTE and that, “The failure to respond in a timely and effective manner requires more direct state intervention.“
