ROCHESTER, MI ~ With electric bikes becoming more popular on roads and sidewalks, one metro Detroit town is looking to regulate their use.
City officials are considering an ordinance to create a “predestrain safety zone” through a stretch of downtown that would require people to walk their bikes, e-bikes, and other wheeled transports on the sidewalks. The ordinance is being considered after residents and businesses raised concerns about pedestrian safety due to e-bikes speeding through downtown.
