SWITZERLAND ~ Vice President JD Vance said “great progress” was made in direct negotiations with Iranian officials to reach a final deal to end the war that the U.S. and Israel began over three months ago.
The talks, which took place on Sunday in Switzerland, saw Iran agree to allow nuclear monitors to inspect the nation to see if it is in compliance with the tentative deal that went into effect Friday. Vance added that the talks set a “good foundation for a successful final deal.”
However, Israel and Lebanon continue to be a sticking point in negotiations, with Israel’s ongoing fighting and occupation in Lebanon continuing despite the cessation of hostilities between Hezbollah and the IDF being a part of the Iran ceasefire deal.
