DETROIT, MICH. ~ Prior to Wednesday night’s PWHL draft at the Fox Theatre, fans took to Columbia Street downtown to celebrate a new era of the league, and the next step for Detroit’s expansion franchise that reached 10 players earlier this week.
Along with music and merchandise, fans got an opportunity to take a photo with the Walter Cup and meet some players who signed autographs.
The draft is set to start at 5 p.m. Wednesday evening. Fans can attend a watch party at Union Assembly that will last until 9 p.m. Fans can also stream the draft on the PWHL YouTube channel or watch on WMYD-TV 20.
Detroit traded the third pick in the draft for Team USA star Hilary Knight on Tuesday. Their first pick will come in the second round at no. 15, barring another trade.
