DETROIT ~ After months of uncertainty about its status, the Gordie Howe International Bridge is reportedly set to open to public traffic soon.
Sources with insider knowledge of the situation told the media that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and former Gov. Rick Snyder are expected to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, with it possibly opening to the public as early as next week. This comes after President Donald Trump threatened in February to keep the bridge closed if Canada doesn’t offer up “at least one half of this asset.”
