SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. ~ Anthropic, the company that created Claude Artificial Intelligence, announced Monday on social media that they have confidentially filed a draft S-1 registration statement to the Securities and Exchange Commission, which would allow the startup to pursue an initial public offering if review is completed.
Just last week, Anthropic also announced that the company is valued at $965 billion. There is a chance they could have a $1 trillion value when they debut on the market in about six to eight months, which would likely make them one of the wealthiest IPOs ever, next to SpaceX and Saudi Aramco.
Anthropic beat out rival OpenAI in filing for an IPO, as OpenAI’s value is expected to exceed $1 trillion.
