MICH. ~ Two sightings of a black bear were reported this week in the Carleton and Flat Rock-Rockwood areas over a two-day span, according to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
The Rockwood sighting happened near Woodruff Road between Olmstead Road and I-75. The other report came from the area of Grafton Road and Carleton Rockwood Road in Carleton around 1:13 a.m. on Sunday, per 7 News Detroit.
Rockwood police have warned residents to be wary of their surroundings as this is possibly the farthest a bear has ever traveled in Southeast Michigan.
