DETROIT, MICH. ~ The Detroit Red Wings will be sharing the ice with a new team starting in the fall for the 2026-27 season at Little Caesars Arena as the Professional Women’s Hockey League announced Wednesday that it’s taking its ninth franchise to Hockeytown.
The team will be sponsored by Ally, a Detroit based financial company, as the squad’s black and silver jerseys will feature an Ally patch. Detroit will also host the 2026 PWHL Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, June 16 and the 2026 PWHL Draft, which will take place at the Fox Theatre the next day. Fans will be able to purchase tickets to the draft.
LCA hosted the first ever neutral-site match for the league in 2024, and now has come full circle, as Ilitch Sports + Entertainment led the way on the business side of the deal.
