DETROIT, MICH. ~ For the first time in 18 years, the top seeded Detroit Pistons have won a postseason series, defeating the eight seeded Orlando Magic in seven games Sunday afternoon. The Pistons ran away with Game 7 in the second half as guard Cade Cunningham recorded 32 points while forward Tobias Harris tallied 30 in the 116-94 win at Little Caesars Arena to move onto the Eastern Conference semifinals.
The Pistons started the series down 3-1, but were able to claw back with a huge comeback effort in Game 6, repeating the 2003 season where Detroit, as the no. 1 seed, won three consecutive games against the 8-seed Orlando to storm back in the first-round matchup.
The semifinals will tip off Tuesday in Detroit against either the 5-seed Toronto Raptors or 4-seed Cleveland Cavaliers.
