ORLANDO, FLA. ~ Behind a 55-19 second half run, the top seeded Detroit Pistons closed a 22-point halftime deficit to force a Game 7 Sunday at Little Caesars Arena, defeating the eight seed Orlando Magic 93-79 Friday night at the Kia Center.
Orlando missed 23 straight shots throughout the final 24 minutes, including posting a 1-20 rate in the fourth quarter. Detroit point guard Cade Cunningham capitalized on the drought after a disappointing first half, scoring 19 of his 32 in the final period, adding 10 rebounds as well.
Once again, Pistons’ forward Ausar Thompson was everywhere on the defensive side of the ball, grabbing 10 rebounds and blocking four shots. He also dished out six assists. Detroit forward Tobias Harris chipped in a double-double to match Cunningham, scoring 22 points while grabbing 10 rebounds.
The win-or-go-home Game 7 will tip off Sunday at 3:30 p.m. on ABC.
