DETROIT ~ The 36th annual Detroit Grand Prix returns to the circuit in downtown Detroit May 29-31, and one of its participants is visiting the city a month ahead of the race.
IndyCar driver David Malukas, of Team Penske, visited the WJR studio Monday to discuss his strategy, mindset, and preparation before the race.
“There’s a physical aspect, and then there’s the mental aspect,” he told WJR. “From the physical side, everyone understands you gotta get to the gym. You gotta be ready for it.”
“From the mental side, these races – Detroit, it’s roughly around two hours. I mean, your brain likes to wander for two hours,” Malukas continued. “Trying to stay on task, that’s the most important thing.”
