April 23, 2026 ~ Todd Flood, managing partner of Flood Law PLLC and host of Behind the Bench with Todd Flood on WJR, discusses the reclassification of marijuana.
WASHINGTON D.C. ~ On Thursday, acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announced on X that he will resclassify FDA-approved marijuana and state-licensed medical marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III.
While the order won’t legalize medical marijuana federally, it will allow researchers to more easily explore the medical possibilities of the drug.
“These actions will enable more targeted, rigorous research into marijuana’s safety and efficacy, expanding patients’ access to treatments and empowering doctors to make better-informed healthcare decisions,” Blanche wrote on X.
He also said that the order will expedite a Congressional hearing to fully reschedule marijuana.
