March 19, 2026 ~ Omari Sankofa, Detroit Pistons beat reporter at The Detroit Free Press, joins Ryan Ermanni to discuss Cade Cunningham facing time off the court as he experiences a collapsed lung, and how this will impact the Pistons’ season.
DETROIT ~ Star Detroit Pistons’ guard Cade Cunningham will be out for an “extended period of time” due to a collapsed lung.
A report from ESPN confirmed the news following his early walkout during a game on Tuesday against the Washington Wizards. The injury was originally thought to be a left back contusion. This comes at a critical point in the Pistons’ season, currently leading the Eastern Conference with just 14 games left in the season. Cunningham will be re-evaluated in two weeks, according to the team. If Cunnigham doesn’t play four more games, he will miss out on the NBA’s 65-game threshold for MVP consideration.
