Feb. 12, 2026 ~ Lloyd Jackson and Chris Renwick speak with Wayne County Executive Warren Evans. Evans discusses Wayne County’s future, focusing on job creation, particularly in aviation, and the expansion of regional transit.
DETROIT ~ During the annual State of the County speech on Wednesday, Wayne County Executive Warren Evans spoke about expanding job growth in the county, particularly in aviation.
“We have a world-class airport here, and we have several airports in the county,” Evans told WJR. “We don’t have a feeder system for those airports, for the jobs that are created and expanding at those airports, and I think that’s something that if you’ve got a world-class institution in your county, let’s have some world-class people to fill those jobs. It’s part of the overall scheme for making Wayne County and Michigan better places to live.“
