DETROIT, MICH. ~ The Detroit Tigers bolstered an already strong pitching staff Wednesday night, signing former Houston Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez to a three-year, $115 million deal. The 32-year-old left hander pitched 192 innings last season, recording 187 strikeouts and a 3.66 earned run average. Valdez won the 2022 World Series with Houston and worked with Detroit manager A.J. Hinch early in his career until the 2019 season.
