CANADA ~ Recently, an agreement was reached to allow 49,000 Chinese electric vehicles to be imported into Canada, continuing to strain relations between Canada and the U.S.
The deal will remove a 100% surtax on vehicles imported from China, as Chinese vehicles continue to gain footholds in Europe, Australia, and Latin America. This comes as U.S. automakers draw investments from Canada, and concerns are mounting about how this deal will impact U.S. EV production.
