WASHINGTON D.C. ~ U.S. Rep. Tom Barrett (MI-7) co-introduced the Stop Insider Trading Act, which would ban all Congressmembers, their spouses, and children from purchasing publicly traded individual stocks.
“I’ve seen a lot of frustration about how Washington D.C. works, or more accurately, doesn’t work,” Barrett told WJR. “A lot of the frustration that members of the public have that is rightfully placed around this, you know, too much of a coincidence when you see too many members of Congress achieving unrealistic gains and wealth as a result of financial holdings that they have.“
