LANSING ~ State Sen. Minority Leader Aric Nesbitt (R-Porter Township), a gubernatorial candidate, is asking the state to conduct an audit of Michigan’s Child Development and Care (CDC) amid national scrutiny over fraud allegations and investigations with Minnesota daycare programs.
The program aims to offer low-income families financial support to acquire childcare services. Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement and Potential (MiLEAP), which contains the CDC, said it takes fraud “seriously” and that it is subject to annual audits.
