WASHINGTON D.C. ~ Over the weekend, President Donald Trump further escalated his anti-immigration agenda by pausing all asylum cases from Afghanistan following the Washington D.C. shooting that left one National Guard trooper dead. The alleged shooter and Afghan national, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, was granted after serving in a CIA-backed “Zero Unit” to fight the Taliban, with these types of units described in a Human Rights Watch report as a “death squad.”
