DETROIT, July 29, 2025 ~ The Detroit Lions hosted its first scrimmage of training camp on Tuesday, July 29. The practice featured most of the players who won’t be taking part of the first preseason game on Thursday, July 31, including rookie defensive tackle Tyleik Williams and offensive lineman Tate Ratledge.
Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson was dominant once again, recording three third-down sacks, proving that his recovery from a torn fibula and tibia is on track.

(CONTINUED) The defense won the day all together, as linebacker Jack Campbell and safety Brian Branch also recorded sacks. Running back David Montgomery was a bright spot for the offense, providing some energy for his unit through physical runs.
Detroit will head to Canton, Ohio for the NFL’s Hall of Fame game, the first game of the NFL season. Kickoff against the Los Angeles Chargers, led by former University of Michigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh, is set for 8 p.m.
