DETROIT, July 28, 2025 ~ The city of Detroit launched early voting Saturday for its mayoral primary, featuring nine candidates.
At early-voting locations, voters can receive and complete a ballot on-site or drop off a completed absentee ballot received in the mail. The following locations are hosting early ballot drop-off boxes:
- Adams Butzel Recreation Complex, 10500 Lyndon St.
- City Clerk’s Office, 2 Woodward Ave.
- Clark Park, 1130 Clark Ave.
- Department of Elections, 2978 W. Grand Blvd.
- Farwell Recreation Center 2711 E. Outer Drive.
- Northwest Activities Center, 18100 Meyers Road.
- Wayne County Community College District Downtown Campus (WCCCD) Northwest, 8200 W. Outer Drive.
- WCCCD Eastern Campus 5901 Conner St.
(CONTINUED) The primary election takes place Aug. 5, with the following candidates vying for two general election spots:
- Businessman Jonathan Barlow.
- Former Detroit Police Chief James Craig.
- Detroit City Council member Fred Durhal III.
- Businessman Joel Haashiim.
- Former Detroit City Council President Saunteel Jenkins.
- Senior pastor of Triumph Church, Solomon Kinloch Jr.
- Attorney Todd Perkins.
- Detroit City Council President Mary Sheffield.
- DaNetta Simpson.
