DETROIT, Feb. 18, 2025 ~ Up to 200 homes in Southwest Detroit are facing flood damage after a major water main break submerged a neighborhood.
Early Monday, a Great Lakes Water Authority water main experienced a 54-inch break around Beard and Rowan streets during freezing winter temperatures, with boats sent out to rescue residents in the affected area. The flood water reached several feet, with city crews out to address the damage in the area.
