UAW Workers Approve Possible Strike At Stellantis Plant in Warren Over Health and Safety Concerns

WARREN, May 7, 2024 ~ UAW workers at the Stellantis Warren Stamping Plant have approved of a strike if an agreement isn’t reached with the company on health and safety concerns.

Workers have long complained about flooding, a lack of personal protective equipment, problems with ventilation fans, oil leaks, and sanitation issues. Stellantis officials said discussions with union members continue and they are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment.

(CONTINUED) Union officials said because the grievance process has been exhausted, workers can call for a strike under the union’s national contract agreement with the automaker. The UAW has national and local contracts in every plant, each covering differing parts of the workforce’s issues.

Warren Stamping makes hoods, liftgates, fenders, floor pans, and other components that go into Dodge Durangoes, Chrysler Pacificas, Jeep Gladiators, Wranglers, and Wagoneers, as well as Ram pickups. A strike at the facility could impact operations at other facilities.
