DETROIT, May 7, 2024 ~ During the weekend, a community center run by Democrat U.S. Rep. Shri Thanedar (MI-13) was vandalized with political messages.

The words “racist,” “ceasefire,” and “free Palestine” were spray painted on the Shri Thanedar Community Center, located on Livernois Avenue south of Seven Mile Road, referring to the ongoing Israeli occupation and bombardment of Gaza that has killed over 34,700 people. Activists have been calling on Thanedar for months to call for a ceasefire, something the representative has refused to do, with him leaving a January town hall early after dozens of activists chanted at him to call for a ceasefire.
