Estimates Say NFL Draft Brought Over $165 Million to Detroit Community

DETROIT, April 30, 2024 ~ The economic impact of the NFL Draft in Detroit is expected to exceed initial predictions, though it may take a while to get the full scope of benefits to the community.

The Anderson Economic Group predicts that the draft impact on Detroit will exceed $165 million, far above some estimates of about $150 million made before the draft. AEG CEO Patrick Anderson told Guy Gordon, Lloyd Jackson, and Jamie Edmonds that, “What we do when we estimate the economic impact of something, we look at the direct expenditures. We take into account the food, drink, hotel rooms, and merchandise expenses.
