Peter Meijer Drops Out of U.S. Senate Race

MICHIGAN, April 29, 2024 ~ Former U.S. Rep. and member of the Meijer grocery chain family Peter Meijer dropped out of the GOP primary for Michigan‘s open Senate seat.

Meijer made the announcement Friday, leaving four candidates left in the race, including Donald Trump-endorsed former U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers. Meijer gained notoriety after he was one of 10 Republican House members who voted to impeach Trump following the Jan. 6, 2021 U.S. Capitol riots.
