Ford Delays New All-Electric Pickup, SUV to Focus on Hybrid Production

DEARBORN, April 8, 2024 ~ Ford Motor Co. is delaying production of its new all-electric pickup truck and SUV from late 2025 to 2026.

The company announced the change last week that it focus on making hybrid vehicles amid slow sales growth for electric vehicles. Jamie Butters, the executive editor of Automotive News, told Guy Gordon, Lloyd Jackson, and Jamie Edmonds that, “We are getting close to a 10% EV market share as the growth continues (at a) faster pace than the rest of the market still gaining share, but there’s been a lot of pushback.
