PITTSBURGH, March 22, 2024 ~ A stunning upset occurred Thursday evening when the No. 14 Oakland University Gold Grizzlies beat out the No. 3 Kentucky Wildcats 80-76.

The game in Pittsburgh saw the team’s first-ever win in the Round of 64, with Jack Gohlke shining as the team’s standout by scoring 10 3-pointers. Grizzlies coach Greg Kampe told WJR‘s Lloyd Jackson and Jamie Edmonds, “Going into the game, the analytics showed that they were a very, very good team, one of the best in the country, but they did it at the offensive end. They outscored you and beat you, they didn’t out-defend you. They outscored you. We felt that if we could keep the game slow and keep them under 75 points, we could win the thing.”
