Kate Confronts Cancer Diagnosis as the Royal Family and Nation Offer Support

LONDON, March 22, 2024 ~ In a somber announcement from Kensington Palace today, Princess Kate Middleton revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer.

The 42-year-old Duchess of Cambridge, well known for her grace and resilience, shared her diagnosis in a heartfelt video message. Her voice steady but eyes filled with emotion, Kate expressed gratitude for the support pouring in from around the world. She revealed that what was initially thought to be a benign condition turned out to be cancer during post-surgery tests following an undisclosed abdominal procedure earlier this year.

In her message, Kate addressed the secrecy that has been surrounding her condition over the last few months, indicating the need for consideration as to how her young children would learn of and understand her condition. She also disclosed that her medical team has recommended preventative chemotherapy, which she indicates has already begun.

The princess closed her message with a request for privacy, asking for the time and space necessary to complete her treatments. Kate says that she looks forward to returning to her work once she has fully recovered.
