PONTIAC, March 7, 2024 ~ Opening arguments began Thursday in the trial of James Crumbley, who is facing four counts of involuntary manslaughter stemming from his son’s school shooting.

Prosecutors emphasized that Crumbley purchased the gun for his son Ethan which he used four days later to kill four of his classmates at Oxford High School in 2021, while the defense said the father had no knowledge of his son’s plan. A teacher who was shot during the rampage gave emotional testimony of what she witnessed on that day.
