Michigan Police Departments Continue to Explore EVs

MICHIGAN, Feb. 6, 2024 ~ Police departments from across Michigan are testing electric vehicles to see if they would work for their fleets.

While some departments have concerns with using current EV technology, such as range and charge times, they are being explored for administrative purposes, according to Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police Executive Director Robert Stevenson. In 2021, the Ford Mustang Mach-E SUV passed the Michigan State Police‘s vehicle test, the first EV to do so.
