Jury Finds Jennifer Crumbley Guilty on Four Counts of Involuntary Manslaughter in Historic Verdict

PONTIAC, MI, Feb. 6, 2024 ~ After deliberating for about 10 hours, a jury in a Pontiac courtroom delivered a historic verdict Tuesday when it found Jennifer Crumbley guilty of four counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection to her son’s school shooting.

Crumbley is believed to be one of the first parents of a school shooter to be found guilty in connection with their child’s shooting. She and her husband were charged with manslaughter over neglecting the mental health of their son, Ethan, and buying him a gun days before he used it in the school shooting at Oxford High School that killed four students and injured seven others.

(CONTINUED) She faces 15 years in prison on each count of manslaughter and will be sentenced in April. Her husband, James Crumbley, will be tried on four counts of involuntary manslaughter in March.
