MICHIGAN, Jan. 8, 2023 ~ A new poll continues to show danger for President Joe Biden in the battleground of Michigan, placing him 8 percentage points behind former President Donald Trump for the general presidential elections.

The poll, which was commissioned by the Detroit News and WDIV-TV, surveyed about 600 likely general election voters in Michigan, and found that 47% of them said they were more likely to vote for Trump, while 39% said they would vote for Biden. About 3% said they would vote for other candidates and 11% were undecided.

This poll reflects previous ones that show Biden’s low approval in Michigan, a state he won in 2020 by just 150,000 votes. One source of voter dissatisfaction stems from Arab American, Muslim, and younger voters’ denouncing his unwavering support for Israel’s siege and military operations in Gaza, which has killed over 23,000 Palestinians.
