(CONTINUED) Early on, the Penn State offense struggled to score touchdowns in the red zone. Nittany Lions’ kicker Alex Felkins made a field goal on their opening drive, followed by a missed field goal on their next.  They made their last field goal of the night on the following drive, making the score 6-0 nearing the end of the first quarter.

Penn State’s offense began to dominate going forward, led by quarterback Drew Allar who had 292 passing yards with two touchdowns. Penn State’s backup quarterback Beau Pribula also came through for the Nittany Lions with a rushing touchdown of his own.

Penn State’s running backs Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton ran all over the Spartans for a combined 255 rushing yards. Each of them had well over 100 yards rushing. Singleton was the only one to score for the duo as he had one rushing touchdown on the night.

Domination by Penn State would end Michigan State’s season, as the Spartans are not eligible to compete in a bowl game. With a season full of ups and downs, Michigan State finishes their season 4-8. Next season, the Spartans open their schedule with a game against Florida Atlantic on Aug. 31, 2024.
