DETROIT, Nov. 16, 2023 ~ UAW members voted to approve the tentative contract with General Motors, the first of the Big Three Detroit automakers to do so.
About 55% of union members in GM plants across the U.S. voted “yes” on the contract following concerns the deal may fall apart as many members were voting “no“ over the contract’s lack of retiree healthcare and pension plans. Some Ford Motor Co. and Stellantis plants are still conducting votes as of Thursday afternoon.
