DETROIT, Oct. 25, 2023 ~ UAW and Ford Motor Co. are reportedly close to reaching a deal with each other as of Wednesday afternoon, which could be a big step towards ending the union’s six-week-long strike against Detroit‘s big three automakers.
Both the Associated Press and Detroit Free Press reported that two unnamed sources with knowledge of the situation said both sides are getting close to signing a tentative contract agreement, though the situation could still fall apart. UAW reportedly countered Ford’s 23% general wage increase with a 25% pay increase, plus additional benefits.
