BALTIMORE, Oct. 23, 2023 ~ The Detroit Lions pivoted from their four-game winning streak, suffering a humbling 38-6 blowout loss against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

From start to finish, the Ravens were on fire, leaving the Lions rattled and scrambling to keep up. While the Ravens dominated scoring touchdowns on their first four possessions, the Lions struggled to pick up a first down, straggling behind play by play.

By halftime, the 28-0 score defined the poor performance of the Lions.

Directly analyzing the two quarterbacks, the Ravens and Lions performance differential speaks for itself. Lamar Jackson went 21-for-27 for 355 yards, taking advantage of opportunities and leading the team to victory. On the other hand, Jared Goff went 33-for-53 for 284 yards with one interception, underachieving from his usual level of play.

In good news, Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit‘s 2023 first-round pick, scored his first career touchdown with a 21-yard run in the fourth quarter, preventing the threat of a shutout.

(CONTINUED) Nearly every possession, the Ravens embraced the opportunity to score, while the Lions drowned in penalties, missed assignments, and poor defense.

The Lions season now drops to 5-2.

Next up, the Lions are back at home to host the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, October 30. After a tough loss, we can only hope for Detroit to bounce back with resilience in Week eight.
